Somehow, Easter always sneaks up on me. I don’t know what it is…maybe it’s because the date changes every year. I feel like I’m always running behind and scrambling last minute to do everything, including putting an Easter wreath up on my front door.
That’s why I love putting this Easter wreath together. It takes minutes to make and only uses three simple things.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- grapevine wreath
- Easter themed hanging sign
- wreath bow
You’ll need to start by making a small adjustment to your wreath bow. Lay your bow on a table, face down, so that you are looking at the back side.
Slip a pipe cleaner through the knot of your wreath bow as seen below. If you don’t have a knot to your bow, just grab the floral wire that was used to construct your bow and wrap it around the pipe cleaner a few times. Then you want to fold the tails of the bow up in thirds, as seen in the picture, and then twist the pipe cleaner together to secure the folded bow tails.
When you turn it over, the folded ribbon tails should look just like one of the other loops in your bow.
You’ll need to make an adjustment to your handing sign. You want to be sure that the main part of my sign centered in the middle of the wreath – so for me, it’s the bunny.
To do this, simply twist the wire just enough to shorten the length to suit your needs. The great thing is that you can easily test it and make any necessary adjustments so that everything on your Easter wreath is centered nicely.
Now everything is ready for you to put your DIY Easter wreath together.
First you’ll want to hang your Easter sign on your door hook. I LOVE this big suction cup hook. This thing isn’t going anywhere – it’s very strong. I think I’ve had this hook for about four years and it still works as well as the day I put it up. If you’d like to check it out, you can find it here. After you hang the Easter sign, add your grapevine wreath to the door hook.
Now is a great time to make any adjustments to your hanging sign to make sure that it is centered in the middle of your wreath.
Once your wreath and sign are centered, it’s time to add the bow. You can use floral wire or even another pipe cleaner for this. Ta-da!! That’s it…your DIY Easter wreath is done in under 5 minutes!
I love this concept for a front door wreath. It’s easy to change out for any holiday or upcoming season of the year and it takes no time to put together. And since this DIY wreath doesn’t use any glue, everything can be re-used to make another project.
